Online Environments and Electronic Solutions

The New Teacher Center continues to design and develop technology-driven solutions that support professional learning communities and the work of mentoring.

NTC is currently using technology to:

• Deliver online professional development courses to beginning teachers
• Support online interaction and communication between mentors and beginning teachers
• Facilitate content-specific distance mentoring
• Provide electronic versions of its Formative Assessment System tools and Continuum of Teacher Development

e-Mentoring for Student Success (eMSS)

eMSS is a nationwide online content-focused mentoring program for beginning math and science teachers by trained mentors, facilitated online content and pedagogy, access to content specialists, and leadership training for mentors, facilitators and content specialists. eMSS-Science is funded through a NSF grant and eMSS-Math is funded by the Goldman Sachs Foundation.
